PORTENT OF WHAT IS TO COME??
Your Editor, once again on his trusty bike snapped the beautiful picture of Mr Wickes' other plant in Wymington. What can you say?

The article below was written by Hargrave Residents but applies equally to any of our villages.

How tall will the Chelveston turbines be?
Well look at this picture where the Express lift tower in Northampton stands at virtually the same height. The tower is 127m and the turbines are 125m - so just 2m's in it! See how it dwarfs the trees and buildings below, and that's on flat ground. Imagine the visual intrusion when erected on one of the highest points around here. Have you sent in your objections to both East Northants and Bedford Councils?

Melchbourne & Yelden Parish Council objects to the Planning application
Just to confirm that Melchbourne & Yelden Parish Council today, 13th May, formally lodged a detailed objection to the proposed Wind Turbine Development at Chelveston with both Bedford Borough and East Northants Councils.
Subjects covered in the comprehensive paper included the following areas:
- Wide ranging concerns over noise, vibration, flicker & overall safety and the combination of wind farm & anaerobic digestion processing
- Technical viability
- Impact on local area and its countryside
- Cumulative effect of wind farm applications in this area
- Lack of meaningful consultation by the developer.
On Monday 19th April there was a very well attended exhibition and meeting for Parishioners to view the latest Chelveston Wind Farm/Biomass Plant plans. Local Councillors and expert speakers attended. It was an extremely active gathering.
A record of the meeting, and questions raised can be viewed at:-
